Srinagar, Oct 30 (KNO): The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and mainstream political party leaders in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday condemned the killing of three BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) workers in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area last evening.
Lt Governor strongly condemned the killing of political workers. Expressing his anguish over the killings, the Lt Governor said that the perpetrators of violence are the enemies of humanity and such cowardly acts cannot be justified. Law shall take its course and the guilty shall be dealt with sternly, he added.
The Lt Governor assured all the possible help from the government to the bereaved families. He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice President Omar Abdullah condemned the targeted killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam district.
Dr. Farooq said that such gruesome killings have no place in the civilized world. "Violence in all forms is condemnable. Our instrument should be dialogue, not violence. Sanctity of life should be respected at all levels. I express my sympathies with the bereaved families of the BJP workers, praying for strength to bear the irreparable loss," he said.
Omar, while condemning the killings said, "I unequivocally condemn the targeted killing of the 3 BJP workers in a terror attack. May Allah grant them a place in Jannat and may their families find strength during this difficult time,” he said.
Among others Party General secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, State Secretary Sakina Itoo, South Zone President Dr Bashir Veeri, District president Kulgam Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also condemned the incident, prayed for strength to bereaved and peace to deceased.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also condemned the killing of three BJP workers and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families.
In a statement, JKPCC described the killing of BJP workers as highly condemnable, mindless and shameful act and demanded exemplary punishment to killers.
JKPCC also expressed serious concern over the deteriorating security situation in Kashmir and emphasized the Govt to take effective measures to prevent attack on political persons and ensure their safety.
It also conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families of slain BJP workers and sympathized with them.
CPI (M) also Friday strongly condemned the killing of BJP workers in Y.K.Pora area of South Kashmir yesterday saying violence in any form is condemnable.
“There is no justification to kill any unarmed person. The civilian killings continue unabated in Kashmir and there is a need to put an immediate end to it,” CPI (M) said in a statement issued to KNO. “We express deep sympathy with the bereaved families,” the statement added—(KNO)
